Serving Your Community

God has placed us in our city to be a lighthouse for Christ. To be most effective we must partner with other like-minded churches, agencies and ministries. We seek to earn the right to proclaim the gospel through building relationships, meeting needs and displaying love. We partner with several ministries throughout the Brandywine Valley in various ways including financial support, service opportunities, training and events. Prayerfully consider serving with one of our ministry partners.

Listed below are some of the local organizations with which we routinely partner. Click on the name of the organization to learn more about them through their websites.

2018 Christmas Service ProjectsWinter coat drive. Image shows coats in various colors.

During our Winter Coat Drive, benefiting the Sunday Breakfast Mission, we collected 240 winter coats for men, women and children! Thank you BVBC for your generosity to support our local community. The coats and jackets will be distributed by the Sunday Breakfast Mission to those in need who do not have adequate winter outerwear.

Zenia Jones, the coordinator of this donation campaign, said she was “pleasantly surprised by the amount of coats and jackets we collected.” She added that we did a coat drive a few years ago but this year’s drive far surpassed what was collected in the previous effort.

Our other Christmas service projects was Angel Tree, sponsored by Prison Fellowship. This ministry serves children who have a parent incarcerated during the holidays. The Angel Tree Christmas party was held on Saturday, December 15. The children and adults in attendance had a wonderful time hearing the Christmas story, eating cookies, making crafts and receiving gifts. Thank you for participating in this outreach opportunity.
