Missions Conference – March 26-April 2, 2017
This year’s Missions Conference will focus on the work happening in Southeast Asia and the Philippines. The Missions Conference kicks off on March 26 with a guest speaker sharing God’s Word with us and concludes on April 2 with Pastor Nate speaking about Joining God’s Mission. You won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity to hear how God is working in southeast Asia and the Philippines.
March 26 and April 2 – Each week a missionary couple will speak to the adult education classes in the Fellowship Hall about how God is working in their ministries. They will speak at both 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Join us on Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m. for a feast of Filipino and Indonesian food. After the dinner, there will be a Q&A with the missionaries educating attendees about how God is working in their ministries.
Childcare is available after dinner for children under age 5. The cost of the dinner is $5/person or a maximum of $20/family of 4+. Register in the Gathering Area on Sunday mornings March 12-26, 2017 or call the church office. Deadline is March 26.
The menu for the dinner is:
Filipino Chicken Afritada – Similar to Italian chicken cacciatore
Filipino Ginataan Sitaw – Green Beans in coconut milk, pleasantly seasoned with a hint of sweetness
Kaning Puti for Tagalog (Filipino) Nasi Putih (Indonesian) – White rice
Serundeng – An optional condiment for white rice to achieve Indonesian flavor
Acar – Indonesian cucumber salad
Wingko Babat – Coconut cake (Americanized version)
Macaroni and cheese for children 12 and under
Rio & Renata S. serve with Interdev Partnership Associates in southeast Asia. They develop partnerships of churches and mission agencies in reaching Muslims in southeast Asia. Rio is also the pastor of a small congregation in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Russ & Ramona Simons serve with World Venture and Interdev Partnership Associates in Philippines. Russ is involved with developing partnership for Muslim ministries. He travels worldwide representing Interdev Partnership Associates in different avenues of evangelism to unreached people groups. Ramona is the founder and director emeritus of 180 Degrees, a music ministry to Filipino youths providing cross-cultural training to least-reached people groups in Asia.
