“Here at MOPS, we are on a mission to celebrate motherhood. We build circles of women who love each other like family, because raising humans is beautiful and hard, and having each other to lean on is life-giving. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own cities, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of being a mom. This is motherhood, and together we can change the world in all the best ways.” – MOPS International
Brandywine MOPS meets once a month on the second Thursday from September through May. We have a morning “AM” session as well as an evening “PM” session. New this year, we will be offering MOMSnext, which is for moms of kids in 1st-5th grades. MOMSnext will be meeting at the same time as PM MOPS. MOPS is for all moms – new moms, foster moms, adoptive moms, or seasoned mommyhood vets – with children age birth through kindergarten. The theme of 2021-22 is “All for Love.”
At each meeting we offer food and refreshment followed by a speaker or video. The meetings end with table discussion group time. Our discussion group times are formatted to allow moms to connect, build friendships and discuss the monthly topic. Outside of our monthly meetings, table groups often get together for playdates, moms night out events and evenings with our mentor moms.
Registration for MOPS 2021-2022 is open. Register Now! The early bird discount expired on September 9. The regular price is $65.
Our morning “AM” session meets on the second Thursday, 9-11 a.m. at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church (get directions). Childcare is provided for children birth through Kindergarten during AM MOPS. Limited space is also available for older homeschool children on a first come basis. If you would like more information about our AM MOPS, please contact Jaimy Gillow.
Our evening “PM” session meets on the second Thursday, 7-9 p.m. at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church (get directions). There is no childcare provided for “PM” MOPS. If you would like more information about our PM MOPS, please contact Alison Champeaux.
All moms need community! This is true during the preschool years and beyond. As mothers enter the school years, new challenges and issues arise, but the need for community and hope remains. For this reason, we offer MOMSnext, a ministry to mothers of children in grades 1-5. MOMSnext is an open, accepting place for moms to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope.
While we are a Christian based program, any mom of a school-age child is invited to attend. We welcome all moms regardless of faith background and belief. MOMSnext is not a Bible study but rather a positive, hope-filled environment for moms to come together in support of one another as we walk through the various stages of motherhood.
MOMSnext meets on the second Thursday, 7-9 p.m. at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church (get directions). There is no childcare provided. If you would like more information about MOMSnext, please contact Meri Wheeler.

Volunteers for MOPS Kids
Volunteers serve during AM MOPS from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. providing childcare for the children (ages infant to 6 years old) of the moms attending the MOPS program. Volunteers are responsible for watching the children assigned to their age-specific room, serving a light snack and diaper changes/bathroom breaks, if needed. A current background check must be on file for all volunteers. If you do not have a background check on file, download and complete the form. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Debbie Stem or Meri Wheeler.
