Last spring, 800 responses to two surveys revealed to us your desire to engage our surrounding communities in the name of Jesus. So, we are calling the entire congregation to a season of life together, called “The Season of Service.”
We want to challenge the entire congregation – young, old, men, women, children – to find some way between now and Christmas Day to serve your local community in the name of Jesus.
But we know that our congregation is a very creative bunch, and that you have many connections in your neighborhoods. We want you to consider how you, your family, or your small group might engage your communities in your own ways.
Here are some opportunities for you to prayerfully consider getting involved in!
Be an Angel to a child of an incarcerated parent by providing gifts for Christmas ($40-$50 limit). Stop by the Missions Corner on Sunday mornings to select an Angel. Gifts are due back December 8.
Fill a shoebox with toiletries, snacks and other small items for a homeless man, woman or child. Pick up shopping lists around the church. Drop off your filled, wrapped boxes at the Mission Corner between services or during the week. Boxes should be returned by Sunday, December 8.
