Jan Skipper is the Administrative Assistant for Disipleship. She is from Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Oklahoma State University. She began working at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church after she and her family – husband Mike and their four children – returned from the mission field in Ghana. Their son Brett lives with his wife Lea Ann in Wilmington; daughters Meg, Robin, with her husband, Marc and four children, and Michelle, with her husband, Will and two children live in North Carolina.
I desire to serve God at Brandywine through the verse I have on my bulletin board that is my heart’s prayer. As I answer phones and encounter people each day from inside and outside our church family I read Isaiah 50:4: “The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning to listen like one being taught.” My heart is to listen well to the folks God brings across my path in the office each day and to respond in a way that honors God.
Jan’s favorite verse is Ephesians 3:17b-19. “I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge…”
