English as a Second Language Class (ESL)
Three levels of English classes are offered:
- Beginners: For those who speak little or no English
- Intermediate: For those who know just enough English to “get by”
- Advanced: For those who want to improve their pronunciation and accent to feel more comfortable conversing at work, school and in the community
WHEN: Tuesdays @ 6:30-8:30pm, September 9, 2025 – April 28, 2026
WHERE: Brandywine Valley Church (7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803). The church is accessible via DART transportation. Take routes #2 or #35 for Concord Pike. Get off at the Talleyville Memorial Fire Hall. The church is next to the YMCA.
WHO: Open to anyone who would like to learn English as a second language (ESL)
COST: $40. The cost includes the textbook and registration fee for the entire year of English classes. Payment is accepted in cash (exact change please) or check.
REGISTRATION: Registration occurs in September and January. All students (new and returning) must register in person for English Classes (ESL) during class in person only. Registration for 2025-2026 is:

- January 6, 2026
- January 13, 2026
- January 20, 2026
- January 27, 2026
HOLIDAY BREAKS: There are no classes on November 25, December 23 and December 30.
CHILDCARE: Childcare is available for babies through age 9.
