Encountering Jesus: John the Baptist
When the Pharisees repeatedly question John the Baptist about his identity, John always steers the conversation away from himself and toward Jesus, the Messiah. We learn that encountering Jesus shatters our self-importance and joyfully focuses all the attention on the Savior.
