The Dual Citizens of 1 Peter

This sermon provides the introduction, background and context of 1 Peter. We learn that this book was likely written by the apostle Peter who was addressing Christians scattered abroad who were about to face a time of intense persecution and suffering. Who are these citizens of both heaven and earth, and what does this tell us about the identity of modern-day Christians?

From Series: "Dual Citizens: 1 Peter"

This sermon series in 1 Peter will encourage, instruct and challenge Christians to live as citizens of the kingdom of heaven while remaining as citizens of the kingdom of man. The scriptures will speak to questions such as: Who are we? How much should we be like or unlike the world? How do we respond when we experience suffering?

Dual Citizens: How to Serve Your Fellow Citizens

In 1 Peter 4:7-11, the apostle Peter tells us God's will for us if we live like there is no tomorrow. Christians are to pray urgently, love intensely and serve faithfully. Pastor Nate emphasizes that Christians display their love for one another by using their God-given spiritual gifts in service. God is glorified when we are faithful stewards of these gifts.
