Our Values
Our Core Values are the underlying convictions of Brandywine that create an unwavering guide for decisions, direction and the fulfillment of our mission. Our leadership aspires to carry out ministry individually and corporately according to our Core Values.
Bible-Centered, Generously Orthodox
God’s Word is our guide, authority and conscience in everything. We stand firm where it stands firm and remain flexible where it remains flexible. We value a diversity of opinions and thought on secondary theological matters. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 13
Discipleship Driven
We are fully committed to making disciples of all ages according to the great commission: introducing people to Jesus and helping them follow Him. Every ministry at Brandywine must be committed to the discipleship pathway of Know, Grow, Go. Matthew 28:18-20
Gospel Partnerships for our City & World
The gospel of Jesus is humanity’s only hope both now and forever. God has placed us in our city to be a lighthouse for Christ and a sender to all nations. To be most effective we must partner with other like-minded churches, agencies and ministries. Therefore, we will seek to earn the right through love, service and effective ministry partnership to proclaim the truth. Romans 1:16; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 9:19-27
Authenticity and Restoration
Jesus came to free humanity from the bondage of sin and brokenness begun at the fall. Jesus makes us whole again through the gospel. We must be a safe place where people can take off their masks. We see brokenness all around our community, therefore, we are committed to offering freedom and restoration to the addicted, hurting and hiding. John 8:12; Ephesians 4:17-24
The Pursuit of Excellence, Relevance & Innovation
God deserves our best and so do people. We will strive to do ministry in a culturally relevant way to the best of our ability. This includes worship, teaching, programs, communication, facilities and outreach. 1 Corinthians 9:19-27
Meaningful Membership & Community
God designed us to live in community not isolation and our desire is for everyone to be connected in a caring, biblical community. We are committed to biblical stewardship of our time, talents and treasures both individually and corporately. We will strive for “100% spiritual employment because the church matures as each member does its part. Hebrews 10:24-25; Ephesians 4:1-16
Unity in Diversity
Unity was made possible and commanded through Christ. Therefore, we will seek to make our church accessible and impacting for all generations, cultures, colors and faith backgrounds. Ephesians 2:11-22; Revelation 7:9-10
Thriving Families
Marriage is God’s first institution. Families are an essential part to healthy society and church. Therefore, we are committed to helping families thrive according to God’s design for the household. We believe marriage and family is a key way we can love and reach our community for Christ. Genesis 1:27-28; Ephesians 5:21-33
