Part-Time Receptionist
LOCATION: Brandywine Valley Church in Wilmington, Delaware, United States
POSITION SUMMARY: The Church Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for Brandywine Valley Church during office hours, providing a warm, welcoming presence both in person and over the phone. This individual also plays an important role in the pastoral care of the congregation by making care calls to members and regular attenders in need of prayer, encouragement, and follow-up. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and spiritually mature, with a heart for serving both the staff team and church family.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Front Desk and Office Support
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff or ministry leaders.
- Monitor general church email inboxes and voicemail messages, responding or forwarding as needed.
- Maintain the reception area, lobby, and hospitality items (e.g., coffee, visitor materials) as needed.
- Provide light administrative support such as data entry, copying, and mailing.
2. Care and Congregational Follow-Up
- Make regular phone calls to congregants who have requested prayer, are going through difficult seasons, are new to the church, or are in need of encouragement.
- Keep accurate notes on calls made and coordinate follow-up with the pastoral staff or care team.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and compassion.
3. Support for Administrative Operations
- Assist with church mailings, office projects, and form processing as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Monitor building entrance during work hours and ensure office security protocols are followed.
- Help ensure adequate phone and door coverage during scheduled hours.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the Operations Manager.
- Provides administrative support for assigned ministry heads and other ministry staff.
- Interacts with church family and guests.
