Pre-Kindergarten Classes
In our pre-kindergarten classes, we seek to provide children with a Christ-centered education in a safe, loving environment that stimulates learning, and allows for spiritual, physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth. Children learn through hands-on projects, small and large group activities, structured time, and free play.
The world of pre-kindergarten may seem to revolve around the alphabet, but it includes so much more. We follow a comprehensive curriculum program by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill called Little Treasures. Little Treasures’ key features include language: basic, content and rich vocabulary, daily lessons in phonological awareness, alphabet recognition, print awareness and oral language, as well as an integrated program of social studies, science and math. Cognitive and physical skills are also developed through imagination games, pretend play, role modeling, and physical education. Children are taught with hands-on materials, songs and games in a multi-sensory environment.
Each week we spend time in God’s Word and each month we memorize a verse from Scripture. The verses may be simple, but they teach important truths that we hope will become part of their foundation as they grow and will stick with them throughout life.
Pre-K Enrichment (Based on enrollment and staffing it will be determined in the future if we are able to offer this for 2022/2023): Each school year, we offer an enrichment program from 12:00-1:30pm up to four (4) days/week to currently enrolled Pre-K students. This supplemental class expands upon their learning with enrichment activities in reading, math, science and social studies. We offer hands-on activities to develop skills, foster curiosity and promote participation and socialization. Each session allows children to apply and practice skills in authentic ways to explore concepts in greater depths.
