Matthew McNutt - May 2, 2021

The Giant of Family Dynamics

As we kickoff our Facing Giants sermon series, Pastor Matthew McNutt will look at The Giant of Family Dynamics. One of the greatest sources of stress, guilt and pain can come from our families of origin. We often walk with an emotional limp from wounds from childhood like divorce, abuse or dysfunctional conflict. While family experiences vary in their challenges, we all need to learn how to face conflict in love, differentiate ourselves from our families, set boundaries and pursue healing through our relationship with Christ.

Whether we like it or not, the pandemic has brought to the surface the giants of fear, family dynamics, anxiety and depression, grief, addiction and a variety of mental illnesses. Most of us have either personally experienced these giants or have loved ones who are struggling. We are a broken people living in a broken world in search of hope. In this sermon series we will come face-to-face with our giants, bust myths about their power and our isolation, and learn to increasingly look to Christ for our ultimate victory.
