Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool & Kindergarten
Development is so important in the preschool years. It’s during these years that children begin to shape perceptions of themselves, others, and God. At Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool and Kindergarten, your child will not only be given a foundation in academics, but also a strong foundation in Christ. Our goal is to stimulate your child’s spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a Christian atmosphere.
We look forward to meeting you and your child!

Meet the Teachers
Kerri Wodzinski: Director
God placed working with children on my heart when I was a young child. When I entered college, though I had other ideas in mind, God quickly directed my path towards education. I graduated from Juniata college with a dual certification in early childhood and elementary education.
I have taught in a variety of school settings through the years, most recently spending seven years as the kindergarten teacher at BVCP. I love being immersed with children in an environment which fosters both a love for learning about the world around them and Jesus’ love and faithfulness for us.
I have now been called onto the path of director of the preschool. It is a gift and blessing to have the privilege of being on the early learning journey with each child and family.
When I am not surrounding myself with all things Preschool, I can be found fostering my daughters’ love for horses and teaching riding lessons to children of all ages. I live in Chester County, PA, with my husband, two daughters, cats, dogs and horses.
Amy Hickey: Lead Teacher, Pre-K
I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Masters in Social Work in 2000. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay home with my children once my husband and I started our family. As my children began to grow older and graduate from Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool and Kindergarten, I couldn’t bear the thought of leaving the school. I was fortunate enough to be hired in the 2-year-old classroom initially. After working with the little lambs for two years, I was blessed with our fourth child and took two years off from teaching to spend time with her. I have an Early Childcare Education Certificate from Delaware Technical College. When I am not at BVCP, I am volunteering at my children’s school, running kids to practices and lessons or doing laundry.
Charleen Davis: Lead Teacher, Pre-K Class
I recently started working at BVCP and the feeling of belonging was instant. I have worked as a teacher for the last 25 years. My most recent experience, prior to joining BVCP, was working with infants, but I have worked with all ages in the Early Childhood developmental range and school age children.
I am a mom of two beautiful girls, and two fur babies: Oscar and Olivia the ferrets, who bring me the most joy. I’ve been married for 12 years. As a family we love to bowl and craft together. Our girls keep us busy with all their school and sporting events, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I enjoy coming to work everyday. The children really do make every day special!
McKenna Herlihy: Assistant Teacher, Pre-K
Biography coming soon.
Sarah Reynolds: Assistant Teacher, Pre-K Class
I have many years of experience working with preschool-aged children, both as a lead teacher and as an assistant. I’ve spent a lot of my time volunteering in children’s ministry, as well as my church’s private school, where my three children currently attend. I have my Associate’s Degree in Education and have always had a passion for working with children, especially Pre-K! I spend most of my time carting my kids to football, cheer, horseback riding and youth group! My husband and I run a landscaping company and a Christmas tree lot. I have a love for reading, art, learning, and outreach in my community. I look forward to working with your child and having the best school year ever!
Julianne Cruser: Lead Teacher, Three’s Class
I’m blessed to be able to return to Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool for another year. As a child I wanted to be a mother and a teacher. I was raised in Lancaster County and moved to North Wilmington as an adult where I have had the opportunity to be a stay at home mom. Although a country girl at heart, I love my little piece of North Wilmington and all the convenience it provides such as the opportunity to teach preschool age children. I love to interact with children and engage them at their level. I enjoy teaching, encouraging, and watching children grow into all that God has created them to be. Outside of the classroom you can find me cheering my three boys on at the baseball field and doing arts & crafts with my daughter. I also enjoy decorating and designing along side my husband.
Tricia Whitaker: Lead Teacher, Three's Class
Biography coming soon.
Tina Fernandes: Assistant Teacher, Three's Class
I first began working at Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool (BVCP) in 2014 and am blessed to continue working in such a family-oriented workspace. As a stay-at-home mom, I was looking for a preschool for my daughter. I learned about BVCP and enrolled her. When she started Pre-K, I applied as a substitute. After working as a substitute, I began working as an assistant in the 2’s class for two years. I then moved onto the 3’s class and finally Pre-K. The following year, I was gifted with my second daughter and took a break for two years. I am back now with the 3’s and am so thankful for it. I love working with kids and am so grateful for the opportunity to see them grow and learn in their beginning years. I enjoy taking bike rides with my 12 year old and playing dress up with my little one. I also love reading in my spare time.
Toni Miller: Assistant Teacher, Three's Class
I am excited to be a part of the Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool family. I was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Georgian Court University and The Savannah College of Art and Design where I acquired a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree. After 13 years in Georgia, my husband and I relocated to Delaware to be closer to family. I was first introduced to Brandywine Valley Church through my sister and from attending MOPS. After being able to spend two years at home with my girls, I was given the opportunity to work at BVCP.
My background includes being a Lead Teacher at The Goddard School, The Primrose School, nannying, teaching Sunday School, lifeguarding and being a 911 Operator. I love teaching my daughters and other little ones about God’s love and seeing them get excited about God through Bible stories, songs, reading and dancing. When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family, listening to music, and being outdoors.
Meri Wheeler: Lead Teacher, Two's Class
I feel called to be here at BVCP helping the children grow in all areas of development. I enjoy getting to know each child and appreciate their unique differences and their love of learning. I enjoy teaching them about God’s love through Bible stories, songs, and books. I desire their preschool experience to be positive and fun and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last a lifetime. I am married with two adventurous boys. When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me spending time with my family, volunteering for various church activities and fostering dogs.

I’ve been babysitting at church for various activities for the three years, as well as, babysitting outside of church. I also help teach preschool Sunday school. I really love kids and enjoy spending time with them!

I have worked in childcare for over 15 years. I started as a young child in youth ministries at my church working in the nursery. From high school I went on to get my Teacher Certifications and worked at different childcare centers in Delaware. My love and passion to nurture the hearts of young children keeps me going daily! I am a mom of two wonderful children, Alivea-Renee and Ace. When I am not working or in school pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education, you can catch me hanging with my children. I am so excited to be a part of your child’s journey.
Heidi Friedkin: Gym Teacher & Substitute
I graduated from University of Delaware with a Physical Education and Health Degree. I taught Driver Education for 5 years at Padua Academy, while coaching field hockey and gymnastics. I stayed home for a few years to raise my four children, but even then was always working with kids somewhere; Sunday School, VBS, gymnastics classes and volunteering on the Children’s Ministry team at Brandywine Valley Church with the most awesome women and mentors. When my kids were all in school I came to BVCP and have been teaching gym and an after school gymnastics program since 2005 and have loved every minute. I love spending time with my husband and family, spending time with the Brandywine Valley Church youth, doing anything outdoors and especially love being at Phillies games. My very favorite thing is being a Nana!
Danielle Mascali: Office Manager
I was born and raised in West Philadelphia and then moved to Springfield, Delaware County until I graduated from college. I have been a fixture in the Oxford, Pennsylvania area for the last two decades.
